Jessica Sanchez is back and already making waves on America’s Got Talent!

The Filipino-American singer first auditioned for the show when she was just 10 years old, where she made it to the semifinals. Now, 20 years later, Jessica returned to pursue her dreams once again.
“I did get eliminated, it was devastating. But it really did help me realize, like I wanna sing. ‘AGT’ was the beginning of that fire sparked inside of me,” Jessica told the judges before her performance.
She also shared that through the years, she fell out of love with music.
“I was really young and I was so swayed by what everybody wanted me to be, who they wanted me to be. Maybe it took me 20 years but I know exactly who I am, I know exactly what I want. I’m excited to be back.”

During her audition, Jessica revealed that she is now married and pregnant with her first child.
She performed Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” with a live band, showcasing her powerful vocals. Her performance earned a standing ovation from both the audience and judges.
Judge Simon Cowell said the audience loved her performance.
Howie Mandel told Jessica:
“20 years was worth the wait. I love that song and you made this song your own and you blew the roof off the place. You are so wonderful.”
Mel B was left speechless and said:
“Jessica, I’m speechless. You’ve got the voice of a bloody angel. Beautiful. I’m lost for words.”
Sofia Vergara shared that something very special happened on stage:
“This was a special moment and I think that you deserve this.”
She then gave Jessica the Golden Buzzer, sending her straight to the live shows. The two shared a hug onstage as Jessica cried tears of joy.
Backstage, Sofia said:
“She sang the way she did and you deserve it.”
Simon Cowell added:
“To succeed, you gotta have grit, determination, and talent. All those years of really wanting something and just going for it, it was like, powerful right. You’re an absolute star.”
The Golden Buzzer means that Jessica no longer has to go through any audition rounds and will advance directly to the AGT live shows.
